Video Submission Guidelines

Your video should showcase the following elements based on your age group. You do not need to demonstrate every skill—just do your best! Be sure to include:

  • Turns

  • Leaps

  • Flexibility

  • Acro Skills

  • Performance Skills

  • Jazz Combo (and Contemporary for Ages 14+)
     

Links with choreography and technique demonstrations are provided for each age group.

Submission Instructions

  • Deadline: Sunday, June 22nd by 10 PM

  • Submit your video via YouTube, Dropbox, or Google Drive

  • Email the shared video link to: info@avidadance.com

  • Late submissions will not be accepted or reviewed

Age 5–7

5-7 Jazz Combo Demo Video

  • Turns: Show a single pirouette if possible (Turns Demo Video)

  • Leaps: Any leap you can do (Leaps Demo Video)

  • Flexibility: Front splits (right and left), straddle (middle split), high kicks, heel stretch, leg hold (Flexibility Demo Video)

  • Acro: Cartwheel, bridge, or handstand (Acro Demo Video)

  • Performance: Show different facial expressions (excited, happy, sad)

Age 8–10

8-10 Jazz Combo Demo Video

  • Turns: Single/double pirouettes, chainé turns (Turns Demo Video)

  • Leaps: Saut de chat, tuck jump, straddle jump (Leaps Demo Video)

  • Flexibility: Splits (right and left), straddle, heel stretch, leg hold (Flexibility Demo Video)

  • Acro: Cartwheel, bridge, handstand, headstand, chin stand, bridge kickover, handstand to bridge (Acro Demo Video)

  • Performance: Show emotional expression through your face

  • Jazz Combo
     

Age 11–13

11-13 Jazz Combo Demo Video

  • Turns: Single/double pirouettes, fouettés, a la secondes, chainés, piqués (Turns Demo Video)

  • Leaps: Saut de chat, stag, straddle jump, tuck jump, calypso, axel (Leaps Demo Video)

  • Flexibility: Front and middle splits, high kicks, needle, scorpion, leg extensions  (Flexibility Demo Video)

  • Acro: Cartwheels both sides, front/back walkovers, aerial, chin/head/elbow stand, headspring (Acro Demo Video)

  • Performance: Show emotion and storytelling through facial expression

  • Jazz Combo
     

Age 14+

14+ Contemporary Demo Video

  • Turns: Double/triple pirouettes, fouettés, a la secondes, chainés, piqués (Turns Demo Video)

  • Leaps: Saut de chat, calypso, firebird, switch leaps, axel, straddle jump (Leaps Demo Video)

  • Flexibility: Front and side splits, scorpion, needle, leg extensions  (Flexibility Demo Video)

  • Acro: Cartwheels, walkovers, handstand variations, side aerial, headspring, tumbling (Acro Demo Video)

  • Performance: Emotional expression and stage presence

  • Jazz & Contemporary Combo
